Dr Snell is a clinical psychologist and clinician-researcher with a long involvement in disability and rehabilitation in Canterbury. She was the first clinical psychologist to be employed on the Burwood site across brain injury and spinal injury rehabilitation services, starting at Burwood Hospital in 1993. Over recent years her research interest has been investigating psychological and neuropsychological outcomes after traumatic brain injury and she has recently completed a research based PhD in rehabilitation through the Rehabilitation Teaching and Research Unit, University of Otago Wellington. She continues to hold a clinical position with the CDHB as Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service at Burwood Hospital.

Dr Snell started in her new role as Academic Director for BAIL at the beginning of October 2011.
