Wednesday 5th September was World Spinal Cord Injury Day – a day on which awareness of Spinal Cord Injury in New Zealand and around the world is raised.
This year’s focus is Pressure Injury Prevention which is a significant and costly concern for many. To address this considerable issue in our country we have created a series of 13 remarkable videos. For those who have a spinal cord injury or impairment it is difficult to get through life without having some experience with a pressure injury. These short videos highlight the causes and effects, sometimes devastating, of pressure injuries in order to help prevent them. In addition to international literature and recent ACC research, a significant aspect in the production of these videos was the involvement of people with lived experience in every aspect of the project.
