Flourishing Together: Research Assistant Role
Description
The Burwood Academy Trust is recruiting for a Research Assistant to work on a 3-year Health Research Council (HRC) funded research project: Flourishing Together: including tāngata whaikaha in health policy development.
The project seeks to create a more enabling society, one of the Burwood Academy Trust’s fundamental research aims.
To positively impact on the social determinants of health, tāngata whaikaha (disabled people) need to contribute to policy planning and programme development. In this research, we are partnering with tāngata whaikaha Māori and non-Māori to co-produce policy advice around housing and home (kāinga) - developing an understanding of the contexts in which disabled people can access and maintain kāinga that meet their needs and aspirations.
Alongside, we will develop innovative methods and tools that can be used in other policy planning spaces. These tools will empower and enable disabled people to create and articulate knowledge that better addresses equitable policy and programme development within Aotearoa, New Zealand.
This project will provide the research assistant with an excellent opportunity to work within an experienced and innovative national research team. The role requires you to work with Dr Rachelle Martin, Cate Grace, Te Ao Marama Apiata and Dr Jo Nunnerley at the Burwood Academy Trust. We are undertaking this project with colleagues at the University of Otago, Victoria University of Wellington and Auckland University of Technology.

- Assisting in the preparation of progress reports for funding agencies
